Quite cool.

After I finished my design diploma last year, i was lucky enough to get a gig working as an intern at a very hip design studio in Christchurch. While there, I had the opportunity to work on some very cool projects and logos that a design student could only dream of doing. On July 01 they officially changed from The New Embassy to Lachabelle and I designed their new logo while their last year (my nephew's head) as well as two other logos featured in their Showcase. They were an incredibly creative group to work with and I hope to do some collaboration with them from here in VT sometime in the future. Go HERE to check out their new site and wonder around.

4th of July = BBQ/Pool Party.

We have been experiencing some pretty shotty weather here recently so the fact that yesterday was gorgeous, warm, sunny and not too humid made the holiday even better. It was also aided bu the solar heated pool that McK's parents have at their beautiful home down the road. The kids have been loving the water and we take turns helping the little girls float around in their super float suits. Good times.

America Day:4th of July.

I haven't been in the States for 4th of July since 2003 so I sort of forgot what goes on, especially in small town Vermont. My family was never big on the 4th but all the women-folk took the kids to a parade in the next town over. A small town parade usually consists of...

Kids from the local elementary school riding down the road all star spangle bannered up, the local drumming squad ( I like the kid in the back farside),
a truck painted like a cow (of course),

the local real estate agent on top of his car with a water gun,

some Mustangs (love this car. I have a secret love of muscle cars),
and the anticipation of the firetrucks throwing candy! They see 'em coming and are poised and ready to run out...
There were about 10 firetrucks from all the local town Volunteer Fire Departments and
Max was ready to get whatever they threw out!

Dressed in their red, whites, and blues.
Holding on to Grandma's finger.
Missy Moosey Maddie.

The Merc turns 6 months old today.

In honor, of the Merc's 6 month birthday it got a very cool sign. We got Charlie, the lift guy, to put it up and it was a bit more difficult than he had thought but they got her up. Windsor Vermont Mercantile: Purveyor of Fine Goods, We don't Rent Pigs.

Another Project: Blue Building.

My siblings own a building here in town with 3 apartments and a retail space that my brothers have been re-habbing. They worked hard to get one of the apartments finished today for some new tenants to move. Up until a few weeks ago, the apartments were crack dens...no really. We are working on getting a new tenant pool. JD and HoboBrig did an incredible job refinishing these units...they totally refinished and stained the wood floors too. Good call. I really wish I had before pictures...no really. Anybody need a retail space?

Nice things.

I have loved the many flowers that I have been gifted these past few weeks. They have filled a void in my new home and just me. Now I am used to them so need to find a way to always have fresh flowers in the house. Liz and Pete gave this beautiful bunch of flowers to me via the help of Lucy here in VT. They sat well on our new kitchen block that we bought from our neighbors who moved and also houses our new kitchen pans that match our new red teapot. Nice things.

Hobo Brig has a new hat.

The New Summer Hobo Brig
Winter Hobo Brig.
We love Hobo Brig no matter what hat he wears.

Lucy's bday.

We tried our best to pull off a Cammock birthday breakfast in our new house for Lucy. We didn't let her have an opinion in the matter, we just had one. It was also the first real gathering we had at our new home with the whole fam. Mom and I made her a chocolate cake, she was gifted homemade flowers, special dances from some of the little people, and multiple packs of Coke zero (when people asked, I thought it was a safe bet for a gift). Birthdays away from home can always be hard but I think she had a pretty good day with the Larsons. The boys helped decorate the cake when they arrived. Why would a chocolate cake just sit there bare when there is bowl of perfectly good M&Ms sitting next to it?
The kids loved the chocolate cake for breakfast...the birthday breakfast was a hit.
Home made flowers and Coke zero!

Hope you had a good day Lucy.

Lightning.

We have been experiencing incredible lightning and thunder storms this summer. It has been the quintessential rainy Vermont summer. But July is right around the corner so we'll see what that brings. Isn't the lightning cool...
