To Faralya and George House
We FINALLY got our dolmus to Faralya after waiting for hours at the Oludeniz bus stop. It was a long wait. We kept thinking (along with Leah, the other American traveler we had met up with at Patara) that it would just be easy to hitch, but after we got on the road, we were VERY glad we waited. I can't believe that is a public road. It winds right along the cliff and over the ocean. Gorgeous drive. The dolmus was full of Turkish people headed home to one of the villages up in the Valley and us 3 travelers. One old man next to me, slapped me on the knee as we turned the bend from the ocean and into the Valley. He was so excited to show me how beautfiul it was. He pointed across the Valley to Faralya and then slapped my knee again, pointed, and said, "George House!" There it was, perched right on the cliff. I mean to get a picture on our way back out but had no battery. There is a link to a good shot. We unloaded at the drive and meandered our way down. We were immediately greeted by a man and he got us a cabin and showed us around. We waited to see one of their spectacular sunsets and it was just that.
