Butterfly Valley

We headed down to Butterfly Valley after breakfast, Turkish breakfast of course. Oh the unslated, fresh butter was soooo good. Anyway, so after gazing down at the Valley the night before and being shown the trail that started from right outside GeorgeHouse, we set on out. There is also a waterfall that we could here that was up the Valley. Along the trail down, Mike saw this and we were very impressed with the ingenuity of the catepillars...wonder if these turn into "the butterflies" of Butterfly Valley?

It's pretty much a hippie commune now that earns money off the tourists that come over from Oludeniz (the den of Satan) or are on one of the cruises that go up the coast. They opperate a wee cafe and charge a hefty price to walk up to the waterfall. It's not an easy walk, slick rocks and mud, and the trail seemingly ends at a waterfall with a sign that said "Dangerous to proceed. Injury or Death"...ooo ooo can I go? So apparently you are meant to climb up the small waterfall and carefully move yourself along this narrow rock in order to see the actual waterfall. So they make a lot of money off this and there isn't much use, I don' think. There had been some accidents recently but they were also high on ecstasy.

There were reminders all along the way not to harm the living things around you. There's a T-shirt in this. Posted by Picasa
