Mutally Benefitting Birthday
I meant to take a picture of us today or during Mike's birthday celebrations but I just kept forgetting so our flatmate just took a picture of us on the couch. So here we are just moments ago. It was a birthday that really was quite mutally benefical. Mike got some cool rubber clogs
that I have been wanting ever since I was in the States last year and these were a super cheap knock off in our equivalent of Walmart. So after we knew how cheap they were...
I got some too. They are suprising comfortable and although some may not quite see the aesthetics, I have always seen their quirky potential. I have this issue with fads and I saw these become quite faddish down here in Queenstown but hey, 10$, who cares? I wasn't prepared to buy into a 50$ fad but this was a perfect. Earlier in the week Mike had found a Mountain Hardware Down Vest that we pulled money from Ashley, me, and Liz to buy. But I went back the next day and it was gone! The woman knew I was coming back but sold it...uh. Mike doesn't often find something he really likes...so we went out looking for something else and we found some cool Keen shoes...made in the States and very comfy. Yes, I know you may ask why he got a pair of women's cute green ones and the answer is...these were on sale and they are my new school shoes. I liked the idea of getting new school shoes like when I was a kid. They are seriously funky designs and I would reckon to say that if Mike were a shoe, these would be them. The look of a tramping boot, rugged, but urban wear go. Sporty but Cool. They've got these great rounded toes and man, a great deal (especially mine on sale)
So for me...a mutally beneficial birthday...was it mine as well? Thanks Mike, happy day!
