The church was covered from ceiling to floor with frescoes depicting Christ's life. Sadly, we didn't have a tripod to get better photos but it was such an experience to get up close to the paintings and not only see it as a church but also as a step in art history and the progression of perspecitive, line, and painting. Very glad we paid the extra lira to go in.
