It was a gorgeous bay.

We had gathered wood that afternoon for a bonfire.

After, we all dingied back to the boat and into bed. I could not sleep with the rocking and the rolling that was going on. I really felt like I was on a never ending Roller Coaster with the waves. I was resigned to just not sleeping that evening until I heard Ben and Ash whispering on deck and then what sounded like the anchor chain coming up...then suddenly we were moving. Mike went up to see if everything was alright and I followed soon after because it was just too rocky. They had felt like it was too iffy to stay in that bay with rocks close when the water was that choppy so we headed for the Ios main harbour that was only 45 minutes away...luckily. In order to get out quickly, they had to leave the other anchor chain there to be retrieved the next day. It was sort of dramatic and I had to be up on deck because it was so choppy and the swells were pretty darn big. It was a beautiful clear moonlit night as we made our early early morning arrival into Ios harbour.
