After mooring, we opted for some leisuring...you all must be getting sick of reading about the amount of "nothing" we did. So, yes, Sash and I sat around on deck with Shaggy chatting. Steve got the snorkle gear and went to shore. Ben was napping and Mike and Ash decided to take the dingy ashore and check out the taverna food ( because it can't be trusted) and see if the World Cup was on. Well 15 minutes later I see the dingy heading towards the cliffs on the other side of the bay. I looked across the bay to see a few caves that I knew they were headed to explore. I kept my eye on them as they got smaller and smaller, realizing that it was quite a distance away. The time passed as we listened to "The Rocket Summer" (cool cool music) over and over and occassionly checked on the boys. I looked through the binoculars and couldn't see them anywhere but a few minutes later when Ben came up on deck and looked through the binoculars (that's right, we couldn't see them. That's how far away they were) he saw them. At one point, Sash looked at them and said she thought they were in the water. Why weren't they using their engine? What were they doing? We didn't want to destroy their fun so we just kept an eye on them. We thought maybe they were just having some good old fashioned quality time. About 30 minutes later we checked on them again and they had seriously drifted back from where they were so we knew that they had no engine. It wouldn't take them too much longer until they would be drifting into the open sea so we got the Naphe crew together for a rescue mission. Steve looked to be asleep on the beach so we just lifted anchor and headed for them. This is what we saw as we approached...
Sad little Mike and Ash
and we spun around and got em.
Don't they look relieved. Yes, Naphe rescue was a success. It turns out they went into that cave and as they came out, the engined stopped and they were out of gas. They tried to paddle with their arms, they got out and pushed it along, and were just dead tired by the time we got them because it had been over an hour since the engined died. Hee hee. You can always count on Mike and Ash for some funny stories.
